Superstitions

Cowboy superstitions were “uncovered” by visiting and interviewing local ranchers and historians at the Bar U Ranch, reading stories, listening to the lyrics of cowboy music and talking about the powerful images in cowboy poetry. Scripts were written, rehearsed and then filmed at the Bar U Ranch, by grade 3 students at RDL School. Through their voices and stories, the culture of the daily life of the cowboy, the challenges of this life, and the drive and desire of the cowboy will be truly understood.

Transcipt:

Do not put your cowboy hat on a bed,
Do not touch another cowboy's hat
Do not keep your cowboy hat on in an elevator

BAD LUCK!

Don't trip over a cowboy boot
Don't step into your left boot first
Don't drop your boots outside the front door

BAD LUCK!

Never let your horse step in a wolf print
Never change a horse's name
Never get on your horse from the right side

BAD LUCK!

Never ride ahead of the cow boss
Never touch another cowboy's horse
Never touch another cowboy's saddle

BAD LUCK!

Never wear your new cowboy boots on Friday 13th
Don't put your new boots on the floor
Don't put your boots on the table

BAD LUCK!
