The Blue Planet

Grade 8

The blue planet is unique because it is where water exists as a liquid. It is because of this fact that life in all its diversity thrives. When the number of human beings was small their effect on the planet was also small. But over the past 100 years the number of people on earth has exploded. During this investigation students explored human impacts on aquatic systems and examined the place of science and technology in addressing water issues. The ultimate task was to create a group presentation for a public water conference, allowing the students to communicate their learning with a variety of people.
