Task

Bringing history to life and making it personally relevant for students were essential components of this social study’s inquiry.  Students were invited to engage with primary source documents from World War I personnel, in order to create biographies about local heroes.  Through their research, students were engaged and inspired to uncover the stories behind the documents.  Making personal connections beyond the classroom provided opportunities to develop a deeper understanding of Canada’s role in WWI and its enduring impact on our national identity.
