Galileo Educational Network – Inspiring a Passionate Commitment to Learning
IDEAS 2014: Rising to the Challenge is the second annual teaching, learning and research conference co-hosted by the Galileo Educational Network and the Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary. In addition to being a peer-reviewed conference, we invited presenters to submit their papers to this peer-reviewed conference proceedings as a way to enhance the knowledge mobilization. The conference mandate was to share the study of innovative teaching practices that support engaging student learning experiences in K-12 and post-secondary. The conference created opportunities for presenters to share how research informs practice and practice informs research. It is provided a forum to challenge us to be better, to build on ideas, and to thoughtfully engage in contemporary ideas of learning and teaching. It is through coming together to study learning and teaching in dynamic relationships, that we create new practice, new knowledge and new research questions.
