Dr. Michele Jacobsen’s design-based and case study research includes K-12 and post-secondary learning and teaching with educational technology. Her work specifically targets how to facilitate learning through the creation, use, management, and evaluation of different technological systems, and what changes are required to make this happen. Examining the shift from transmission to participatory, knowledge-building cultures that promote academic engagement are other areas of research. Dr. Jacobsen is the Associate Dean, Graduate Programs in Education, and an associate professor at the University of Calgary.
